From November 1st to November 3rd (AV17) Gallery will participate in one of Europe’s most prestigious art fairs, “Artissima”. For this occasion, the gallery’s curated booth will be showcasing works by sculptors Rimantas Milkintas and Vladas Urbanavičius, spanning different periods of their careers.
The gallery (AV17) returns to Berlin and for the sixth time represents Lithuanian contemporary sculptors at the POSITIONS art fair from September 12th to 15th. POSITIONS art fair visitors will have a great opportunity to see and purchase the works of well-known Lithuanian sculptors and installation creators Rimantas Milkints and Algis Kasparavičius.
On 13 August Danas Aleksa’ solo exhibition “Changed Purpose” was opened at the Audiovisual Arts Centre in Alytus. The works in the exhibition reflect on the architecture and context of the abandoned synagogue that now houses the Audiovisual Arts Centre. The universal issue of heritage and its place in today’s society is sensitively addressed through the sculptural objects and the exhibition itself, drawing attention to the synagogue space.
August 30th-September 27th Denis Kolomycki’s personal exhibition “Femina” is one view in Jonava’ civil registration department, Jonava’ Janina Miščiukaitė art school and Jonava’ baseline. Artist series of works “Femina” examines how various gender stereotypes can shape, limit, or even disrupt the development of personal identity and draws attention to related issues of gender equality and justice.
On the 14th of August, in Bernardinai Garden, Gallery (AV17) presented Mindaugas Navakas’ exhibition “5 objects(2)” to Vilnius residents and city guests. The exhibition was inspired by the artist’s previously created “Vilnius Notebook” (1981-1985) – a series of sketches drawn up using photomontage. The new series of works stands out for its impressive volume and mass, its suggestive irony, and its provocative qualities that are directed towards both the audience and its surroundings and are a continuation of the artist’s previously established ideas.
Contemporary sculpture, object, and installation-focused (AV17) Gallery has been invited to participate in the international art fair “NADA Villa Warsaw”, which will be held from 15 to 19 May at Willa Gawrońskich in Warsaw. At the fair, (AV17) Gallery will showcase the works of the eminent Lithuanian sculptors – Nerijus Erminas and Andrius Erminas.
April 8th-26th gallery (AV17) is preparing a continuous educational project “Everyday objects in creation”. From 2019 the creative educational workshop project that has been launched this year will invite students to classes in Tauragė, Raseiniai, and Jurbarkas art schools. This is a series of creative workshops for 10-18 year old students, focusing on the exploration of contemporary sculpture, object and installation art.
The exhibition “The Night Is Too Long” by Lithuanian sculptor and interdisciplinary art creator Marija Šnipaitė opened at the RAVNIKAR gallery in Ljubljana on March 20th. The exhibition is part of an international exchange between RAVNIKAR Gallery in Ljubljana and (AV17) gallery in Vilnius.

On August 18th, at 5 pm the exhibition “Untitled” by Arturas Bumšteinas and Alan Gurinas was opened in Zarasai Cultural Centre’s space “Kupolė”. Bumšteinas frequently engages in collaborative projects and this time, he was partnering with Alanas Gurinas, a young generation contemporary sculptor.
On May 30th at 5 PM, the “Commercial Exhibition Milijuons” by Donatas Jankauskas-Duonis will open at the Multicultural Center of the Kėdainiai Regional Museum. The exhibition features an installation that provides the opportunity to briefly immerse oneself in Duonis’ created world of monkeys and contemplate what determines the value of an hour.
Continuing the representation of Lithuanian artists abroad, the gallery (AV17) will participate in the VOLTA NY art fair for the second time, where on May 17-21 it will be showcasing the exceptional work of sculptor Mindaugas Junčys.
Algis Kasparavičius‘ solo exhibition „Sudden Memories“ opens at the Tauragė region museum „Santaka“. This solo exhibition features a collection of recent and previously created works, all centered around the theme of memory. The objects showcased in the exhibition create a surreal, dream-like ambiance.
At 6 PM on January 14th, 2023, the audience may enjoy an impressive musical performance “A Nap” in the Atletika Gallery located at the cultural centre SODAS 2123 (Vitebsko str. 21, Vilnius). This event will feature the electronic music artist Ellen King (ELLLL), Vilnius University Women’s Choir VIRGO, and the contemporary visual artist Kristina Inčiūraitė.
In a collaboratory project between the (AV17) gallery and the Vilnius Town Hall each month six contemporary Lithuanian artists present a new piece: Algis Kasparavičius, Rafal Piesliak, Rimantas Milkintas, Dainius Liškevičius, Donatas Jankauskas, Jurga Barilaitė.
Rimantas Milkintas solo exhibition “Diagram of Time” is being held at the Anykščiai art incubator. In the exposition, the artist presents works created before and now, with the site-specific installation “Diagram of Time” as the core of the exhibition. The works selected for this exhibition reflect the current trends of recent years and develop the author’s search for the use of industrial products in his work.
The gallery (AV17) returns for the fifth time to the POSITIONS art fair in Berlin with mostly new pieces created especially for this fair. The works of three selected very different artists reveal their own unique creative features, representing the wide field of Lithuanian contemporary sculpture.”
Marija Šnipaitė’s personal exhibition “Dwelling” was presented in the gallery space of Marcinkonių Station gallery. The exhibition highlights the associative thinking characteristic of the artist’s work, based on both personal and co-cultural experience, attention to materiality, and feelings of time and space are conveyed through sculptural language.

Gallery (AV17) is continuing its long-term project with Lithuanian students “Everyday Objects in Art” and is inviting Ukrainian youth aged 16-29 to join. During the creative workshop, participants will take part in educational lectures, discussions, and practical sessions with professional Lithuanian artists and pedagogues.
Andrias Ermins’ personal exhibition “Cross Section” presenting new and previous artists’ artworks has been opened on the 8th of July in VDA Telšiai Gallery. The artist is well known for his conceptual sculptures and installations, which often depict various delicate marginal states of being.
On May 10th an exhibition “Conversion“ by Lithuanian sculptor Rafal Piesliak has been opened at the “Portfolio“ gallery in Biržai. This exhibition is part of a project focused on the dissemination of professional Lithuanian art in the regions.
The (AV17) Gallery has organized a project “Everyday Objects in Art” held in Jonava Janina Miščiukaitė Art School and Radviliškis and Kėdainiai Art Schools in May. It’s a cycle of creative workshops dedicated to pupils between the ages of twelve and sixteen allowing them to dab into the important principles of creating contemporary art.
November 20 the exhibition “Insight” by Lithuanian sculptor Rafal Piesliak has been opened at the gallery Le Guern.
The exhibition is a part of an international exchange between gallery (AV17) and Le Guern.
This year at the POSITIONS art fair in Berlin one of the (AV17) Gallery’s represented artists, Laura Põld, was nominated for the Claus Michaletz Prize and as a winner, the artist has prepared a separate booth with an installation of personal works.
Rafal Piesliak’s installation “Garden” consists of 10 objects and belongs to the series of works “Antennas”. At the “ArtVilnius” Art Fair in 2020, the commission has announced “Garden” as one of the two best installations presented at the Art Fair. From September 18 the installation is open to public.

For the second year contemporary sculpture, object and installation art gallery (AV17) has been invited to participate in a prestigious VOLTA International Art Fair which this year took place on September 20-26 in Basel. The VOLTA art fair is held annually in New York, Miami and Basel.

On September 9-12, (AV17) gallery participated in the POSITIONS contemporary art fair in Berlin for the fourth time. This year it presented the latest works of two Lithuanian sculpture and object artists. The POSITIONS art fair is one of the most important art events in Germany, attracting a significant number of visitors including collectors, curators as well as art enthusiasts.

At the Exhibition Hall at Klaipėda Culture Communication Center (KKKC Didžioji Vandens St. 2, Klaipėda) the international form art festival FACT-FORM organized by the Klaipėda branch of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union was opened.
On June 2, we presented Arturas Bumšteinas and Gytis Bertulis’ vinyl record “Goldberg Variations” which was be supplemented with audio performance.
From April 22 the (AV17) gallery presented the exhibition of contemporary sculpture creators “Waiting” at the Kūdrų Park, Vilnius, in which ten well-known sculptors showed their works.
A Pop-up group exhibition is showcased at the window on Pylimo st. 34, where six Lithuanian sculptors presented their works: Jonas Aničas, Andrius Erminas, Nerijus Erminas, Tauras Kensminas, Rimantas Milkintas, and Rafal Piesliak.

Exhibition “The Break” covers objects of different expressions that respond to one of the most important sculptural forms – the diversity of contemporary sculptural objects. The presented works reflect the transition of paths from figurative forms reminiscent of the aesthetics of modernist sculpture to contemporary motifs that give meaning to global problems.
A solo show by a Lithuanian artist Anastasia Sosunova ‘Barry Walking Himself’ was opened in Kogo gallery (Tartu, Estonia) on November 22th.
On November 27th, 7 pm (AV17) gallery together with Contemporary Art Centre are pleased to invite to a performance ‘Spell Action #1’ by an artist Rūta Butkutė. It is the second artist’s performance presented in Lithuania; this time specifically adapted for the space of the CAC.
The artworks by two young Lithuanian sculptors Jonas Anicas and Tauras Kensminas were presented in one of the most important and influential centres of contemporary sculpture in Poland for the first time.
