Artists

Mateusz Choróbski is a sculptor, installation artist, and performance artist who addresses sensitive social issues. The artist analyzes problems related to the economy, conceptually approaching the emotional states they evoke. By transforming everyday objects and giving them new purposes, Choróbski seeks connections between the former and new contexts. He focuses on the exhibition space, manipulating light to alter the visual understanding of the place. The exhibitions often blur the boundary between the work and the viewer, drawing them into the created reality.

Mateusz Choróbski (b. 1987, Radomsko) graduated in photography from the University of Arts in Poznań and obtained a master’s degree in Media Art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The artist has participated in 12 solo and more than 30 group exhibitions. His work has been presented in Poland, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, and elsewhere.
